Professional Installation Guidelines & Specs

HORI stone coated steel roofing tiles are engineered for an advanced interlocking horizontal fastening system. Proper installation ensures a 160 MPH wind-uplift defense and absolute zero leaking.

Step 1: Battens Setup & Spacing

Install treated timber battens (usually 50x50mm or 38x38mm) starting from the eave. Crucial: Keep the precise spacing (typically 368mm to 370mm depending on the profile) to ensure tiles interlock perfectly without stretching or buckling.

Step 2: Bottom-Up Interlocking Laying

Always lay HORI tiles from the bottom eave line upward to the ridge line. Overlap the front lip of the upper tile over the back flange of the lower tile, forming an seamless, wind-driven-rain-proof barrier.

Step 3: Horizontal Side-Nailing (Anti-Hurricane)

Do NOT nail straight down from the top. Drive specialized, corrosion-resistant roofing nails horizontally through the front turn-down lip into the batten. This mechanical structure prevents the roof from tearing off during Category 5 hurricanes.

Step 4: Flashings & Weatherproofing Sealing

Secure the customized HORI accessories (Ridge Caps, Side Flashings, Valleys) at all roof intersections. Use high-grade polyurethane sealant around fastener penetrations to guarantee watertight perfection.
